Google's New App Streaming Technology For Android Handets

Use Apps Without Installing Them

Google announced today that it's beginning to test a feature streaming apps for Android Phones so that people can use them even if they are not installed on your mobile phones. Streamed versions of apps will only be available via Google's own app and on its Chrome browser. This feature will work only on phones that are in the US, connected to wi-fi and run on Android Lollipop or higher. In this feature the apps will run on a virtual machine on Google’s cloud platform to respond the user queries.

This technology will help people to get better search results. Often the best search results are found over apps rather than web search. Initially 9-odd apps including Hotel Tonight, Weather, Chimani, Gormey, My Horoscope, Visual Anatomy Free, Useful Knots, Daily Horoscope, and New York Subway have been selected to work with this streaming system for a test.

Google is planning to expand this feature. This is a wonderful initiative as Google search is a critical tool for the web, but apps, which increasingly hold information that isn't available elsewhere, haven't been as visible to Google. This feature moves toward keeping Google Search as important as ever.
